Day 1

Overnight flight to Windhoek.

Day 2

Stay overnight at the Windhoek Country Club Resort, the desert city’s premier property which offers a full range of facilities and activities. (BB)

Day 3

Commence drive south and stay overnight at Auob Lodge. This fine lodge lies in the heart of the Kalahari Desert, and is situated on the banks of the dry Auob River. Guests are accommodated in comfortable en-suite rooms, with horse-riding and game drives on offer to view species such as oryx, springbok, zebra, giraffe and blessbuck. (BB)

Day 4-5

Continue onward to stay for two nights at Canyon Lodge. Standing proudly amongst impressive granite boulders in seemingly abandoned surroundings, this lodge lies nearby to the Fish River Canyon. The thatch-roofed en-suite bungalows have natural rock walls, whilst the farmhouse, originally built in 1910, has been restored to serve as the restaurant, with its main attraction being an awe-inspiring view of the Canyon landscape. Day 6-7

Drive west to Lüderitz to stay for two nights at the Nest Hotel & Wellness Centre. Occupying a stunning beachfront location, this property offers sea-facing accommodation and is the ideal base from which to visit Lüderitz, the ghost town of Kolmanskop, the forsaken mining town of Pomona or to take a boat trip to the penguin colony on Halifax Island. Day 8-9

Proceed to Sesriem to view the unique dune landscape and stay for two nights at the Sossusvlei Desert Lodge. Situated in the heart of the Namib Desert, Sossusvlei Desert Lodge accommodates guests in large luxurious stone and glass villas which overlook the vast barren landscape. Day 10-11

Continue onward to the charming coastal town of Swakopmund to stay for two nights at the Swakopmund Hotel. All the guest rooms at this five-star resort overlook a courtyard and swimming pool, and it is an ideal home from home for visitors seeking recreation on re-vitalising walks along Namibia's sandy beaches, or to act as a base from which to explore the fascinating surroundings. Day 12-13

Enjoy exceptional scenic views on the journey north to Damaraland to stay for two nights at the Twyfelfontein Country Lodge. In the construction of this property care was taken to blend into the mountainside with the use of thatch roofs, natural stone and paint colours toning in with the surrounding rock formations. The surrounding area is renowned for some of the best examples of bushman paintings and rock engravings in Southern Africa, as well as interesting rock formations and geographic features including the Organ Pipes, Burnt Mountain and the Petrified Forest. Day 14

Continue to the Ongava Private Game Reserve to stay overnight at Ongava Tented Camp. This superb luxury camp offers night drives and nature walks, activities not permitted in neighbouring Etosha. (FB)

Day 15-16

Proceed east until reaching Kempinski Mokuti Lodge, the base for the next two nights. Located close to the entrance to Etosha National Park, this delightful lodge combines unique African charm with international standards of luxury. It offers excellent service in the heart of the African bush, from where guests can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives each day into the national park. (BB)

Day 17

Drive south towards Otjiwarongo to stay overnight at the world-famous Okonjima Guest Farm, the home of the AFRICAT Foundation. There is the opportunity here to view leopards and cheetah during their feeding times, and also to join a group on a highly informative bushman or bantu trail. (FB)

Day 18

Drive to Windhoek to return hire car for the overnight flight to the UK.

Day 19

Arrive in the UK.
