Close to Cape Town, the only major wine producing area of South Africa includes the attractive towns of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Wellington and Worcester. The wine estates, commonly elegant Cape-Dutch buildings, are open to the public for tours and tastings in some of the most picturesque scenery.
